This is the story of Epic Tree — from why it was founded, to our design principles and vision. It gives you a clear picture of Sion Chan as a UI/UX Design Freelancer, and what Epic Tree stands for as a digital product design studio.
When Sion worked as a Product Owner on the client side, he regularly translated business goals into clear user stories and drove websites and digital products to launch.
While collaborating with traditional design studios, he noticed that teams often focused less on business context. Communication also had to go through multiple layers, making it harder to convey requirements accurately and slowing down decisions.
This experience made it clear: what clients really need is UI/UX design support that aligns with business goals, while staying fast and flexible. That is why Epic Tree was founded.
We aim to be your reliable design partner — analysing from the user’s perspective how to achieve your business goals, and helping your business move forward.
Although Epic Tree is a hired design partner, only by treating your project as our own can we truly analyse business needs from multiple angles.
Every business is different. We don’t simply copy designs from the market. Instead, we take the time to understand your needs and business goals, and design the solution that fits you best.
Some designers feel reluctant when their hard work is changed. We don’t. If a problem is found, we fully accept redoing the work — what matters in the end is whether the design is truly useful.
Epic Tree is based in Hong Kong and operates fully remotely. Whether working solo or expanding the design team, we don’t rely on a physical office — keeping collaboration flexible and efficient.
